Relics of the Qin Shi Huang to Be Exhibited in the British Museum
Adjust font size:

Terracotta Warriors in the Tomb of Qin Shi Huang is considered as the 8th Wonder of the World.

One-hundred-plus cultural relics from the Tomb of Qin Shi Huang, the first emperor of the Qin Dyansty (259-210 BC), will be sent to the British Museum on September 13, for display at a special exhibition.

The exhibits include 20 terracotta warriors, several other terracotta figures and an exquisite bronze crane. The British Museum will prepare its central area for the exhibits from China. In fact, most of the relics have never been on display out of China before. Morgan Stanley will be the major sponsor of the exhibition.

"Qin Shi Huang will the hero of this exhibition, not the terracotta warriors," said Neil MacGregor, curator of British Museum, who came to China to arrange the transportation of the relics. "We don't want to host an ordinary exhibition, but we want the visitors to know who was behind the scene of this miraculous empire. Besides, Qin Shi Huang was the first person to bring China together after all."
