Demobilized Soldiers Encouraged to Find Their Own Jobs
Adjust font size:
Governments at all levels will offer favorable policies to encourage demobilized soldiers to find jobs for themselves after they return to their hometowns. These former army men and women will be treated preferentially in various aspects such as commerce and industry, finance, taxation, public security, education, as well as social security.

According to authorities of the Ministry of Civil Affairs, the State Council and the Central Military Committee have worked out a series of regulations concerning the re-employment of demobilized soldiers. By encouraging them to find jobs by themselves, instead of relying on the government, governmental departments at various levels will be relieved from the pressure of arranging the resettlement for each of them.

In light of the notice decreed by the State Council and the Central Military Committee, local governments should earnestly summarize experiences from trial units in this regard, perfect concerning rules and regulations, and put more efforts in guiding and encouraging urban veterans to search for their own jobs.

Local governments should also, in line with the military service law, timely deliver concerned subsidies in one lump sum to those demobilized soldiers who decide to get employed through their own efforts. Relevant departments, such as commerce and industry, finance, taxation, public security, education, social security and other aspects, should offer favorable policies. Meanwhile, by utilizing existing schools and training institutions and relying on the joint efforts of the departments of labor and social security, local governments should provide these people various training courses to help raise their educational level and learn new vocational skills, so as to increase their competitiveness in the labor market. The cost will be covered as local governmental expenditure.

Local public employment service institutions should also offer free consultation and information to those who have registered for employment.
