Women advisors on the National Committee of the Chinese People's
Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) gathered for a New Year
tea party in Beijing Tuesday, and China's top political advisor Jia
Qinglin attended the party.
Jia is the chairman of the committee.
Chen Kuiyuan, vice-chairman of the committee, expressed his
gratitude to the women advisors, and encouraged them to continue to
make suggestions for the country's development.
Among CPPCC's women advisors are leading politicians,
scientists, professors, and sports champions. Chen said they are
outstanding women who have made a great contribution to CPPCC's
history.
Three chairwomen of the Standing Committee of the National
People's Congress or China's top legislature -- He Luli, Gu Xiulian
