As the writer of previous works such as "Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind", "Adaptation" and "Being John Malkovich", all of which were considered to be mind-bending and obscure, Kaufman's new venture in animation has aroused doubt.
However, DreamWorks intends to create the script using multiple writers, so the cartoon will not be completely Kaufman's work. Viewers can find out how much Kaufman contributes to this script after the film is released.
The sequel will bring back the voices of Jack Black, Angelina Jolie and Dustin Hoffman. Po the Panda's new adventure will be shown on the big screen starting June 3, 2010.
