The nominees of 47th Taipei Golden Horse Film Festival have been unveiled, Mtime.com reports.
The Taiwan film "When Love Comes," directed by Chang Tso-chi, stands out in the film list with 14 nominations, including Best Feature Film, Best Director, Best Supporting Actor, Best Supporting Actress, Best New Performer, and Best Original Screenplay to name a few.
Produced by Peter Chan and directed by Teddy Chan, the film "Bodyguards and Assassins" (Shi Yue Wei Cheng) has also grabbed 9 nominations including Best Feature Film, Best Director, Best Leading and Supporting Actor, and Best Cinematography.
Taiwan director Chung Mong-hong's film, "The Fourth Portrait," has been nominated for 7 awards including Best Feature Film, Best Director, Best Supporting Actress, Best New Performer, and Best Original Screenplay.
This year will see an intense competition for Best Leading Actor. Chinese mainland actor Wang Xueqi, also the former Best Supporting Actor for the film "Forever Enthralled" (Mei Lan Fang), expects to win the Best Leading Actor this year. He will be competing with Taiwan actor Ethan Ruan, who gave an impressive performance in the hit film "Monga," and Chinese mainland actor Ni Dahong who has been considered the best supporting actor in China ever and played a judge in the film "Judge" (Tou Xi).
The Best Leading Actress will also take on a fierce fight. Chinese mainland actress Xu Fan, Taiwan actress-director Sylvia Chang and Chinese mainland actress Lu Liping all have gained audience support for their recent roles. Another Chinese mainland actress, Tang Wei, the Best New Performer of the 44th Golden Horse Award, will compete for the prize for her performance in "Crossing Hennessy."
The awards ceremony of 47th Taipei Golden Horse Film Festival will be held on November 20th.
