A spokesperson said that Elizabeth Taylor's doctor is encouraged by her improving health, according to the Press Association.
"She is in good spirits and continues to feel stronger every day," said Jamie Cadwell, the spokesperson, on Wednesday.
Cadwell added that Taylor, 78, will continue to stay in the hospital so that she can be closely observed.
The spokeswoman clarified that the legendary actress had suffered neither a heart attack nor a stroke.
The Oscar winner was admitted to the hospital in Los Angeles about two weeks ago because of an ongoing "congestive heart failure."
The actress had a heart surgery to get her "leaky valve" repaired in 2009, and she twittered afterwards: "It is like having a brand new ticker."
