Italian band Ataraxia will kick off their China tour this Friday at Beijing's MAO Live House.
Ataraxia is known for including Baroque-style music, poetry, theater and the art of painting in its performances, as well as writing songs in many ancient and contemporary languages.
Formed in the late 1980s, the band describes its music as a cross "between sacred and profane, ethereal and neo-classical, contemporary and early music."
Invited by independent Pocket Records, Ataraxia will perform in another eight cities after Beijing including Shanghai, Nanjing, Xi'an and Hong Kong on April 26.
