Deng Minghe, a young boy who performed at the 2013 Spring Festival Gala, has been reportedly diagnosed with leukemia and is receiving treatment in Beijing, Beijing Times reports.
Beijing Children's hospital has confirmed that Deng is receiving treatment there but stated that his condition is not yet clear. The hospital declined to give further details at the request of the patient's parents.
A spokeswoman surnamed Bian from JL. Brother Media, Deng's agent company, says they had not received news that the boy had been sick.
Six-year-old Deng Minghe and his younger sister Deng Minglu opened and led a popular children's show that won critical acclaim from the audience at the gala on February 9.
