From a social media influencer (also known as "Yigongzi" on social media platforms) who works in the field of cultural communication to a member of the 14th National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, the transition makes Wu Minjie to feel a great responsibility. But she has gradually adapted to her new role and has begun to focus on issues like traditional culture and art, public cultural service and internet communication.
During the ongoing two sessions, her proposal mainly involves the overseas communication of traditional Chinese culture. "I will adopt a sincere attitude, speak up my mind honestly. I will perform my duty with dedication and try to contribute to the development of Chinese culture and art", said Wu.
"Cultural communication on a massive scale is nothing like producing 'fast food', you have to shut out all the noises and endure loneliness, it entails hard work day after day, year after year", said Wu in an interview. According to her, although each video she posted only lasts for a few minutes, it usually takes her team a great amount of time to collect materials and brainstorm."
"Chinese culture is an inexhaustible treasure trove worthy of lifetime digging and study", said Wu. She hopes that she could bring those people and objects that have touched us in the five-thousand-year history of Chinese culture into people's lives and to the world through mass communication.
