Organizers said on Wednesday evening that three Taylor Swift's concerts in Vienna this week were canceled after Austrian authorities announced arrests over a planned terrorist attack on the events.
"With confirmation from government officials of a planned terrorist attack at Ernst Happel Stadium, we have no choice but to cancel the three scheduled shows for everyone's safety," the event organizer Barracuda Music said on Instagram.
Earlier Wednesday, Austrian authorities said they had arrested two people suspected of plotting attacks on the concerts. A 19-year-old suspect was arrested Wednesday morning in Ternitz, south of Vienna, Austrian news agency APA quoted Franz Ruf, public security director of Austria's interior ministry, as saying. The other was arrested in Vienna Wednesday afternoon.
Swift was scheduled to play on Thursday, Friday and Saturday as part of her widely popular Eras Tour. An estimated 170,000 fans would have attended the three concerts, according to APA.
