Kweichow Maotai, the most famous Chinese liquor maker, reported on Friday night a 10.11 percent profit increase in the third quarter from a year ago on booming market demand.
The Shanghai-listed company reaped a net profit of 997 million yuan (146.62 million U.S. dollars) between July-Sept. The earnings per share was 1.06 yuan.
The sales revenue in the period was 1.87 billion yuan.
The company earned 3.79 billion yuan in the first three quarter, up 20.41 percent from a year earlier. The sales revenue was 7.81 billion yuan.
The company also unveiled its latest plan to invest 567 million yuan by the end of 2010 to increase output by 2,000 tonnes to meet market demand.
With the fresh input, its annual sales revenue is expected to top 1.27 billion yuan.
