Chinese shares continued to shed at midday Friday, after the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index dropped 1.1 percent to a seven-month low Thursday.
The fall was the seventh in a row, set the stock index for a monthly decline.
The Shanghai Composite Index lost 0.99 percent to close at 2,839.91 points at midday, down from 3,109.11 points at close March 31.
The Shenzhen Component Index dipped 1.26 percent to 11,055.63 points.
