Geely-Volvo's Chinese headquarters, research and development center, and production base will be located in Shanghai International Automobile City, said Zhu Mingrong, vice president of the executive council and secretary-general of China Auto Talents Society on Thursday.
Zhu, also the deputy director of the Organization Department in Jiading District, Shanghai, released that Geely-Volvo signed an agreement with the government of Jiading District on June 30.
An insider from Geely-Volvo said that no details could be released before the final completion of the purchasing deal.
The takeover of Sweden's Volvo by Geely, a privately-run Chinese carmaker, was approved by the European Commission on Tuesday.
