China Southern Airlines, one of the top three domestic airlines, announced Thursday that its net profit in the third quarter surged by 970.77 percent to 3.041 billion yuan, the China Business News reported.
According to the carrier's Q3 report, it achieved 23.16 billion yuan in operating revenue from July to September, 7.21 billion yuan more than same time last year. In the first nine months, China Southern Airlines accumulated 5.12 billion yuan of net profit attributable to shareholders.
Shares of China Southern Airlines closed at 12.11 yuan Wednesday, down 3.74 percent. China Eastern Airlines and AirChina will also release their Q3 financial results Thursday.
