East China's Shandong Province exported 3.5 billion U.S. dollars worth of ships in 2010, a 64.2-percent year-on-year rise, the local customs house said Sunday.
The total included 1.7 billion U.S. dollars worth of cargo ships and 720 million dollars worth of marine engineering products.
There are 17 ship builders and exporters in Shandong each with an annual export volume of at least 100 million U.S. dollars, 11 more than the 2009 figure.
The province has built three large ship manufacturing bases in Qingdao, Yantai and Weihai.
