Chinese stocks rose slightly at midday Wednesday with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index up 0.18 percent to end the morning session at 2,419.39.
The Shenzhen Component Index climbed 0.41 percent to 10,491.54.
Shanghai Shentong Metro Group Co., operator of the Shanghai subways, once dived more than four percent in the morning after a subway train rear-ended another train on the Line 10 subway Tuesday afternoon, injuring more than 270 passengers, including four foreigners.
Shares of the company ended 1.26 percent lower at 8.64 yuan in the morning session.
