Work is resuming in the chili industry in southwest China's Guizhou Province as spring plowing begins.
Farmers in Guizhou are busy sowing seeds, cultivating seedlings and transplanting the plants.
The province plans to grow more than 343,000 hectares of chilies this year, with an expected production of 6.85 million tonnes with a value of 23 billion yuan (3.3 billion U.S. dollars).
Chilies and related deep-processing products form a distinctive industry in Guizhou.
