Beijing's commerce bureau released a list of 36 new local consumer brands with booming online sales and hot-selling products at a press conference on Thursday.
The 36 brands cover nine categories, including smart technology, food and beverage, and cosmetics. They stood out due to their rapid growth, merchandise design and marketing of products, according to the commerce bureau.
In recent years, Beijing has taken the lead in the country in establishing a collaboration mechanism for developing new brands, with the government improving business environment and the market carrying out incubation. So far, six incubation bases for such brands have been established for this purpose.
Data shows that, during the "Double Eleven" sales promotion on Nov. 11 last year, 35 new consumer brands each registered sales surpassing the 10-million-yuan threshold on online marketplace Tmall, and 26 brands reported sales increase of at least 30% from the previous year.
