The inaugural International Exhibition of Agricultural Products in the Yellow River Basin will be held from Nov. 8-10 in Weinan city, northwest China's Shaanxi province, announced Sun Xiao, secretary-general of the China Chamber of International Commerce, at a press conference held Friday in Beijing.
Spanning 10,000 square meters, the exhibition will spotlight the local specialty agricultural products from the Yellow River basin. Featured items will include original ecological agri-products, products with geographical indications, high-quality agricultural goods, unique handicrafts, processed goods, and tourism-related products.
Organizers expect 200 enterprise exhibitors, with overseas exhibitors making up about 20% of the total. Additionally, an estimated 1,000 domestic and foreign purchasers will be in attendance.
The three-day event will feature a roundtable forum on international agricultural cooperation and quality development. Multiple parallel forums will also explore topics like agricultural technology, venture capital, smart agriculture, and intelligent irrigation.
These forums aim to showcase the latest technologies and scientific research achievements of agricultural development in the Yellow River basin. Sun also mentioned the potential for showcasing products and brands for future livestreaming and e-commerce promotions.
Zheng Dongping, vice-chairman of the Shaanxi Sub-council of China Council for the Promotion of International Trade, underscored the exhibition's five standout features: a great variety of items, local specialties, high quality, agricultural technology exchange, and a unique agricultural culture experience.
The exhibition aims to create an international trade platform for the characteristic agricultural products of the Yellow River basin, so as to further boost the region's coordinated, high-quality development.

A highlight from the press conference was the unveiling of the exhibition's mascot: a carp named "Yue Yue." The character is inspired by the Chinese myth of a carp that swims upstream to leap over the falls of the Yellow River at the Dragon's Gate. In Chinese, "Yue" means "leaping," symbolizing energy and positivity.
