Rita Lau, Secretary for Commerce and Economic Development of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region government, will leave for Davos, Switzerland on Thursday to attend an informal ministerial meeting to review progress of WTO negotiations.
According to Information Services Department of the Hong Kong SAR government, the meeting, organized on the sidelines of the annual meeting of the World Economic Forum, will be held on Jan. 29.
Ministers are expected to discuss the state of play of the Doha Round negotiations, with the aim of providing political impetus to bring the Round to a successful and balanced conclusion.
Lau will return to Hong Kong on Jan. 30.
