China's quality watchdog Wednesday announced a recall of 2,443 trucks equipped with flawed chassis made by Japanese company Mitsubishi Fuso Truck and Bus Corporation from Thursday.
The recall was ordered to correct problems with the truck chassis on the FV517K, FV517S, FV51JJ, FV51JK, FV51JP and FV 51JS models, produced by the Mitsubishi Fuso from Sept. 8, 2005, to Dec. 3, 2009, said a statement on the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine (GAQSIQ) website.
Connection errors of the electric circuit on the chassis could disable the tachographs (the vehicle traveling data recorder), according to the statement.
The recall involved mainly transit mixer trucks produced in China.
Owners can contact the company's after-sales service network in China to arrange repair of the flaws.
For more information, owners can call Mitsubishi Fuso's hotline, 021-62194674, or contact the GAQSIQ on 010-59799616.
