Six members of a family in south China's Yunnan Province were apparently murdered and another member missing Monday, local police said.
The killing spree occurred at a courtyard in Wumeng village in Luquan Yi and Miao Autonomous County in Kunming, the provincial capital.
Police said the victims were attacked by someone wielding a hatchet. The dead were the missing person's grandmother, father, mother, uncle, uncle's wife and son.
Further details were not immediately known.
