Six people have been confirmed dead and seven others injured in a fire that broke out early Sunday morning in a building in southwest China's Guizhou Province.
The fire broke out at 4:00 a.m. in a five-story building in Zhuoshui Township, Zunyi City. Witnesses said the fire started from a shop on the ground floor. Most of the fatalities and injuries occurred when 12 people jumped out of the windows to escape the fire.
The blaze was brought under control at 8:00 a.m.. The injured are in stable condition in hospital, according to the local fire department.
Authorities are still investigating the cause of the fire.
