Henan will be the first province of China with a population of 100 million, according to a provincial meeting on population, dahe.com reported today.
Henan's population totaled 99.8 million at the end of 2009 and the 100 millionth child is expected to be born in July this year. So far only ten countries in the world are larger than Henan in population.
China had a population of 1.328 billion as of the end of 2008, according to statistics released by the National Bureau of Statistics in February 2009.
