Eight people died and 24 were injured in a road accident Sunday on the Ganyue expressway's Jishui section in east China's Jiangxi Province, local police said.
The accident involving a tour bus took place at around 6 p.m. near Jishui county, and the injured had been rushed to hospital, the traffic police section under the Jiangxi Provincial Department of Public Security said in a statement.
A tour bus overturned, a witness told Xinhua over the phone.
Police are still investigating the cause of the accident.
Ganyue expressway links Heyuan city of south China's Guangdong Province with Ganzhou city of Jiangxi.
