Song Chenguang, vice chairman of the Jiangxi Provincial Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), was removed from his post, a source with the Communist Party of China (CPC)'s organization department said Monday.
Song, 58, was allegedly involved with "serious disciplinary breaches," the source said without elaboration.
Earlier reports on July 10 said Song was under investigation by the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection, the CPC's internal anti-graft watchdog.
He became vice chairman of the Jiangxi Provincial Committee of the CPPCC in 2008.
