Class resumed Tuesday in the primary school where 41 children were injured Monday in a stampede, in Aksu City of northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, municipal authorities said.
The accident occurred at the No. 5 Primary School in Aksu City as students rushed downstairs from the second floor of the four-story building to the playground for exercise at about 12 a.m.
The only child critically injured in the accident was now out of danger. The other injured children were in stable condition, according to a statement from the Aksu municipal publicity department.
A total of 123 children were taken to Aksu's No. 1 People's Hospital and 41 of them were admitted. Seven children were seriously injured, according to previous statements.
