A man in Shenzhen, Guangdong province, was detained by police on Friday for making a hoax call about a bomb on a plane.
After the caller claimed that a bomb had been placed on board a flight en route from Shenzhen to Shanghai, police at Bao'an International Airport immediately evacuated the plane. All of the passengers on the flight and their luggage were then forced to undergo a further security check.
The man, surnamed Chen, was later seized by police and said he made the hoax call after being frustrated by a two-hour flight delay.
