The Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee decided to honor outstanding grassroots Party organizations and Party members during the celebration of the 90th anniversary of the founding of the CPC, on July 1 this year.
The information was announced in a circular issued by the Organizational Department of the CPC Central Committee, and made public Friday.
According to the circular, Party organizations and Party members who have made significant contributions to promoting social harmony, serving the people and carrying out the CPC's socioeconomic ideology, "Scientific Outlook on Development," will be honored.
Their achievements should be publicized so that people can learn from them, the circular said.
By the end of 2009, the number of CPC members had grown to nearly 78 million.
