The daughter of Taiwan's top examination official died after falling from a building Wednesday morning in Shanghai, local authorities said.
Police have ruled out the possibility of murder after an initial investigation.
Wendy Kuan, 34, died after falling from her kitchen window, located on the 27th floor of a building in the city's Xuhui District, the Shanghai Municipal Public Security Bureau said in a statement.
Kuan is the only daughter of Kuan John Chung, president of the Examination Yuan, or House of Examination, of Taiwan.
The woman had been living in Shanghai prior to her death, according to the statement.
