At least four people have been confirmed dead and another 11 injured in a gas explosion that occurred at a factory in east China's Jiangsu Province on Thursday morning, according to local police.
The accident occurred around 9:00 a.m. Thursday at a factory that specialized in producing badminton equipment in the province's city of Nantong. An adhesive used to produce the equipment became vaporized and reacted to sparks from nearby equipment, triggering the explosion.
Two people were killed at the scene, while another two died later at the hospital. The 11 injured are still hospitalized. All of the dead and injured were factory employees.
The explosion also resulted in a fire, which was put out half an hour after the explosion occurred, according to local authorities.
The accident is still under investigation.?
