Zheng Jianbang, chairman of the Central Committee of the Revolutionary Committee of the Chinese Kuomintang (RCCK), on Sunday said that RCCK always regards advancing China's peaceful reunification as the focus of its work.
Zheng made the remarks at a press conference on the sidelines of the first session of the 14th National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), China's top political advisory body.
He noted that RCCK has historical relations with Taiwan, and will utilize this advantage to assist Taiwan youths to develop on the Chinese mainland, enhance people-to-people exchange and integration across the Taiwan Strait, and forge closer bonds between the people on both sides of the Strait.
Zheng also mentioned other aspects of RCCK's work, including its contributions to poverty alleviation in China's rural areas.
The RCCK, founded in January 1948, is one of the eight non-Communist parties in China that participate in state affairs under the leadership of the Communist Party of China. Zheng was elected chairman of the 14th RCCK Central Committee in December 2022.
