The Nanhu sub-district of Shenzhen's Luohu district recently partnered with the city's Waste Sorting Alliance to host a volunteer initiative aimed at promoting waste classification and fostering sustainable living among residents. This effort sought to raise public awareness and encourage widespread community participation in adopting eco-friendly practices.
During the event, volunteers carried out thorough inspections of local businesses and alleyways, ensuring a clean and tidy environment. Their efforts included picking up scattered litter, addressing sanitary problem areas, and advocating for environmental protection. Volunteers also actively engaged with residents and shop owners, encouraging them to embrace low-carbon lifestyles.
The initiative produced significant results: over 30 informational leaflets were distributed, more than 150 cigarette butts were collected, 15 littered areas were cleaned. Additionally, improperly parked bicycles were neatly organized into designated spaces.
