The Mausoleum of Huangdi, a legendary initiator of the Chinese civilization, is the most important ancient grave site in China, hidden inside the dense evergreen cypresses on Qiao (Bridge) Mountain in suburban Yan'an. Yan'an is a prefecture-level city in Shaanxi Province in northwest China. It was near the endpoint of the Long March, and became the center of the Chinese Anti-Japanese War (1937-1945) and China's War of Liberation (1945-1949).
