China's anti-graft authorities honored 12 Communist Party of China (CPC) grassroots organizations and 119 individuals on Wednesday for their outstanding performance ahead of the 90th anniversary of the founding of the CPC.
At a joint meeting held by the CPC Central Commission for Discipline Inspection (CCDI) and the Ministry of Supervision, CCDI deputy secretary He Yong asked the country's discipline inspectors to learn from these organizations and individuals.
Safeguarding public interest should be both the starting point and the final objective of discipline inspection and supervision, he said.
He encouraged discipline inspectors and supervisory authorities to improve their employees' capabilities and work ethic.
He Guoqiang, head of the CCDI and also a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee, was present at Wednesday's meeting.
