China increased its military spending to better soldiers' lives, but will not seek to establish any overseas military bases, said Yin Zhuo, a retired admiral and researcher of the Chinese navy and a member of Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), Beijing Times reported Thursday.
"China's escort frigates only need supply stations, not overseas military bases. We are not going to establish overseas bases like the US did in Singapore," Yin said.
