The 10th National Committee of the Chinese People's Political
Consultative Conference (CPPCC) held its 49th meeting of the
chairman and vice chairpersons on Sunday, to propose that the First
Session of the 11th CPPCC National Committee would open on Mar. 3,
2008.
The proposal was included in a draft resolution that will be
handed over to the forthcoming 20th meeting of the Standing
Committee of the 10th CPPCC National Committee for checking.
The CPPCC National Committee, the top advisory body in China,
elects new leaders every five years. The current leaders of the
10th CPPCC National Committee were elected in March, 2003.
