Water supply for more than 100,000 people in a county in southwest China's Chongqing Municipality resumed Monday morning after nearly two days of disruption due to a damage made by lightning.
The publicity department of Yunyang County's Communist Party Committee said Monday that the lightning damaged a 35-kilovoltage line at 6:00 p.m. Saturday amid a heavy rainfall, leaving water pumps in the local water company out of work.
It said the damaged section of the power line was located in a remoted mountain area, which delayed the maintenance work.
