The seventh traditional fire pottery festival opened Sept. 1 in Shandong's porcelain city, Zibo. Potters from 14 countries, including Argentina, South Korea, Romania, Turkey and the United States, attended the festival.
The art of clay and fire is more than 8,000 years old in Zibo. The festival presented traditional firing processes by ancient kiln and logs.
The imitation of Long Kiln – the imperial kiln used during the Southern Song Dynasty (1127-1279) – was built in the city for 300,000 yuan (US$ 47,010) in 2005.
