The Public Security Ministry has called for the utmost efforts of public security forces at all levels to ensure that the Chinese people enjoy a peaceful National Day holiday over the next week.
The holiday period is also one of the country's major tourism weeks, during which many people travel to tourist destinations across China.
In a notice, the Bureau said that violations of public security, including theft, explosions and unexpected accidents, must be guarded against, adding that related departments must strengthen the supervision of tour sites, tourism facilities and hazardous tour programs.
Extra efforts should be made to seize illegal guns, and crack down on gambling and pornographic activities, the notice adds.
