More than 300 international auto manufacturers that attended the Beijing Auto Show which ran from June 6 to 13 were impressed by the passion of Chinese fans.
"This is the best Chinese auto show I have ever seen, and quite close to the standard of famous international auto shows. It is mypleasure to take part," said Dale Jones, vice president of marketing, sales and services for Ford Motor China.
The concept car displayed by Ford became the show's highlight. Named Flexus, the car has the advantage of practicality and flexibility.
The zest that Beijing spectators showed was really exciting. Although some people did not want to buy at the moment, 400,000 visitors still indicated that China has great potential for buyingautos, said Reinhard Nickel, senior manager of after sales service and projects for Audi China.
Dieter Laxy, senior vice president of the Volvo Car Corporation,said "The auto show gives us a good opportunity to visit Chinese customers and dealers."
"When I squeezed into the crowds, I could imagine how the market will thrive," said Laxy, who came all the way from Sweden.
To Jing Yongjian, senior engineer of the China Automotive Industry International Corporation, the Beijing Auto show is on the top ten list of international auto exhibitions so far.
The biennial Beijing Auto Show aims to display new technology and new products, and discuss hot issues of auto development.
Industry sources see the auto show the most crowded exhibition in China, which indicates people's strong desire to own family cars.
The eight-day busy show earned organizers more than a million US dollars, with entry tickets sold at 30 yuan for ordinary visitors and 60 yuan for professionals.
