At the beginning of the class, a classroom teacher played a video for the students showing pupils on a break listening to a broadcast. A teacher then enters the classroom, turns off the broadcast system and tells students to prepare for the next class lessons.
After turning off the video, the classroom teacher asks pupils, ?what are the ?rules? in daily life?? Various responses about ?obeying the rules? are elicited from the students, such as don?t use mobile phones during performances and that teachers should not take up students? break time. The classroom teacher then asks another question, ?What is the message in the video?? He shows the pupils how their rights are protected by the school rules.
It is reported that Shijia Hutong Primary School has drawn up a rule that requires teachers to set aside time for moral education, such as morning exercises, broadcasts, class meetings and so on. If pupils find their teachers are breaking the rules, they can report them to the school leaders.
