Cooperation and Exchanges on the Peaceful Uses of Nuclear Energy
The Chinese government is committed to promoting multilateral and bilateral cooperation and exchanges in the use of nuclear energy and the development of nuclear technology for peaceful purposes. Since joining the IAEA in 1984, China has acceded to a number of international conventions, including the Regional Co-operative Agreement for Research, Development and Training Related to Nuclear Science and Technology, Convention on Assistance in the Case of a Nuclear Accident or Radiological Emergency, Convention on Early Notification of a Nuclear Accident, Convention on the Physical Protection of Nuclear Material and its Amendment, Convention on Nuclear Safety, International Convention for the Suppression of Acts of Nuclear Terrorism, and the Joint Convention on the Safety of Spent Fuel Management and on the Safety of Radioactive Waste Management (Joint Convention), and fulfilled the obligations under these conventions. It has carried out cooperation and exchanges with the international organizations such as IAEA in the development of nuclear energy, nuclear science and technology, nuclear safety and security, and emergency preparedness and response.
As of December 2020, China had signed intergovernmental cooperation agreements with 28 countries on the peaceful uses of nuclear energy, carried out various forms of cooperative activities with developed countries in nuclear energy, and provided assistance to other developing countries to the best of its abilities.
和平利用核能的合作與交流
中國政府積極支持促進和平利用核能與核技術發(fā)展的多邊與雙邊合作和交流。自1984年加入國際原子能機構以來,中國先后加入《核科學技術研究、發(fā)展和培訓地區(qū)合作協(xié)定》《核事故或輻射緊急情況援助公約》《及早通報核事故公約》《核材料實物保護公約》及其修訂案、《核安全公約》《制止核恐怖主義行為國際公約》《乏燃料管理安全和放射性廢物管理安全聯合公約》等國際公約。認真開展履約活動;與國際原子能機構等國際組織在核能發(fā)展、核科學技術、核安全、核安保、核應急等方面開展了合作與交流。
截至2020年12月,中國與28個國家簽訂了政府間和平利用核能合作協(xié)定,與發(fā)達國家開展了多種形式的核能合作活動,為其他發(fā)展中國家提供了力所能及的幫助。
