Deputies to the People's Congresses

The deputies to the NPC and the local people's congresses are elected in line with relevant laws. They represent the interests and will of the people and participate in the exercise of state power based on the functions and powers accorded to them by the Constitution and the law. Deputies to the NPC make up the highest organ of state power, and deputies to the local people's congresses at all levels make up the local organs of state power at the respective levels. 

The deputies to each NPC are elected to serve a term of five years, from the first annual session of the current NPC till the first annual session of the succeeding NPC. The suggestions, criticisms, and other views about various issues, put forward by the deputies to the NPC or its Standing Committee, will be conveyed by the administrative bodies of the Standing Committee to relevant departments and organizations to handle and make replies. The departments and organizations concerned must contact the NPC deputies to appraise their suggestions, criticisms, and views, provide explanations, and conduct research prior to offering prompt replies.

人大代表

全國人民代表大會(huì)和地方各級人民代表大會(huì)代表，代表人民的利益和意志，依照憲法和法律賦予本級人民代表大會(huì)的各項(xiàng)職權(quán)，參加行使國家權(quán)力。全國人民代表大會(huì)代表是最高國家權(quán)力機(jī)關(guān)組成人員，地方各級人民代表大會(huì)代表是地方各級國家權(quán)力機(jī)關(guān)組成人員。全國人民代表大會(huì)和地方各級人民代表大會(huì)代表依照法律規(guī)定選舉產(chǎn)生。

全國人民代表大會(huì)代表每屆任期五年，從每屆全國人民代表大會(huì)舉行第一次會(huì)議開始，到下屆全國人民代表大會(huì)舉行第一次會(huì)議為止。全國人民代表大會(huì)代表向全國人民代表大會(huì)或者全國人民代表大會(huì)常務(wù)委員會(huì)提出的對各方面工作的建議、批評和意見，由全國人民代表大會(huì)常務(wù)委員會(huì)辦事機(jī)構(gòu)交由有關(guān)機(jī)關(guān)、組織研究辦理并負(fù)責(zé)答復(fù)。對全國人民代表大會(huì)代表提出的建議、批評和意見，有關(guān)機(jī)關(guān)、組織應(yīng)當(dāng)與代表聯(lián)系溝通，充分聽取意見，介紹有關(guān)情況，認(rèn)真研究辦理，及時(shí)予以答復(fù)。
