Qing Royal Paintings Resurface

China is preparing an exhibition of lost art works from the royal family of the Qing Dynasty. The display of watercolors and calligraphy will be held at the beginning of next month in the northeastern city of Shenyang, CCTV reported Sunday.

The works of art are some of China's most priceless. "Upper River during Qing Ming Festival" is the country's most famous silk scroll watercolor. It was painted in the Northern Song Dynasty by royal artist Zhang Zeduan.

These paintings used to belong to China's royal Qing Dynasty family. But after the fall of the last Emperor, Puyi, they were scattered and lost. Liaoning Museum has been working to gather back the lost treasures.
