More than 100 projects are to be launched in Gangsu Province during the 10th Lanzhou Trade and Investment Fair to lure foreign and domestic investment to further boost the economy.
Co-organized by China Council for the Promotion of International Trade, All China Federation of Industry and Commerce and the Gangsu provincial government, the largest fair of its kind in the province will run on August 26-30.
"We will take advantage of the fair to attract more capital, technology and talent to our province," said Cui Zhenghua, vice-governor of Gangsu Province at a press conference in Beijing.
"All the preparatory work is well underway," he added.
According to Cui, those projects unveiled in the forthcoming trade fair will be placed into categories such as infrastructure, metallurgy, building materials, machinery and tourism.
"Tourism will continue to be one of our highlights at the fair," Cui said.
Meanwhile, another three trade fairs focusing on new technology and products; medicinal material in the western regions and automobile engineering and machinery will also kick off during the five-day event.
Figures indicate that with the launch of the country's "Go West" campaign, Gangsu has registered a dramatic growth in the past three years.
Fixed assets in the province have accumulated in the last three years to 133 billion yuan (US$16 billion), representing an annual growth of 15.2 percent. Last year, its gross domestic product topped 107.3 billion yuan (US$12.9 billion).
