China's Online Game Market Booming

Online gaming market estimates show China has the highest growth potential in the Asia-Pacific region.

The International Data Corporation, or IDC, says China is expected to become the largest online gaming market by 2007, with availability of broadband and wireless networks acting as the key to growth.

The country's online gaming market grew almost 46 percent in 2003, and in the next two years its Massive Multiplayer Online Role-Playing Games are expected to dominate its online gaming market.

Market revenue of online gaming in Asia is set to surpass US$1 billion by next year, with most growth coming from China and South Korea.
