Weekly Weather Forecast (February 6 to 12)

During the week, a stronger stream of cold air will affect central and east China, bringing about overcast and rainy days in most areas south of the Yangtze River.

 

Northwest China: February 6 to 7, northern and western Xinjiang and northern and western Qinghai will experience light to moderate snow with force 4 to 6 northerly winds expected throughout northern Xinjiang and some eastern sections of the region. February 8 to 10, some places in western Xinjiang and eastern sections of the region will be overcast with light to moderate snowfall. February 11 to 12, another stream of cold air will affect some places of the region.

 

North China: February 6 to 7, most of the region will be overcast or cloudy and then turn to be sunny with light snowfall possible in some of central and northernmost parts of the region. The temperatures will drop. February 8 to 9, most of the region will be sunny to cloudy with mild winds. February 10 to 12, cloudy skies will cover the region with light to moderate snow expected in some areas and fog in the plain areas.

 

Northeast China: February 6 to 8, most of the region will see light to moderate snowfall with heavy to stormy snow expected in some places. Force 4 to 6 northerly winds will blow after the snowfall, bringing about lower temperatures. February 9, most of the region will be sunny to cloudy. February 10 to 12, northernmost and easternmost parts will be overcast with light to moderate snow with force 4 to 5 southerly or northerly winds expected in most parts of the region. Southern parts will have fogs.

 

Central China: February 6, most of the region will be overcast with morning fogs, while southern Hunan Province will be overcast with possible rain showers. February 7 to 9, affected by a northerly stream of cold air, central and southern parts will see overcast skies with light to moderate rain or sleet, accompanied by force 4 to 5 northerly winds in areas north of the Yangtze River. February 10 to 12, most of the region will be sunny to cloudy with higher temperatures. February 11 to 12, some areas will have more foggy days.

 

East China: February 6, easternmost sections and the Shandong Peninsula will be overcast with light rain or snow. February 7 to 9, the Shandong Peninsula and areas south of the Yangtze River will be overcast with light to moderate rain or snow, accompanied by force 4 to 6 northerly winds and colder temperatures. February 10 to 12, most of the region will be sunny to cloudy with temperature rising. February 11 to 12, some areas will have fogs.

 

South China: February 6 to 7, most of the region will be cloudy, while some western and northern sections and the Hainan Island will be overcast with possible showers. February 8 to 10, most of the region will be overcast with possible light rainfall and lower temperatures. February 11 to 12, most of the region will be cloudy to sunny with temperatures rising and possible morning fogs.

 

Southwest China: February 6 to 7, eastern sections of the Sichuan Basin, Chongqing and Guizhou will be overcast with light to moderate rainfall, while most of the remainder sections will be under cloudy skies. February 8 to 10, eastern sections of the region and eastern Tibet will be overcast with light to moderate rain or snow with ice rain expected in some of Guizhou Province. The temperatures in eastern sections of the Sichuan Basin, Chongqing, Guizhou and the Yunnan-Guizhou Plateau will drop. February 11 to 12, eastern sections of the region will be cloudy, while some of the remainder sections will be overcast with possible light rainfall and fogs.
