Andrew Young's 'Let It Flow' in Beijing
British clarinetist and saxophonist Andrew Young will lead his band "Let It Flow" in a performance at the Beizhan Theatre on Friday and Saturday.

Consisting of Young and two singers, a keyboard player, a guitarist, a percussionist and a horn player, the band will perform a variety of pop music including songs from film soundtracks, world hits and works arranged by Young himself.

For the Chinese tour, Young will purposely present local audiences some Chinese songs, such as "Jasmine Flower."

Born in Liverpool, England, Young began to learn clarinet at the age of eight. By 1982 he had completed his clarinet and saxophone studies at the local conservatory.

Then he moved to Germany where he made a name as one of the most accomplished players of both saxophone and clarinet. He now often tours across Europe.

In 1989, Young became the saxophonist of the Transvaal and Natal Philharmonic Orchestras in Durban, South Africa, after an audition.

Meanwhile, he formed his band and played a concert tour to thrilled audiences.

Young has also released several albums with Sony Music and BMG. Among them, the album "Soul People" topped the chart twice in South Africa, and won the South African Music Award.

His album named "Andrew Young" was recorded in Newcastle upon Tyne in the UK and reached the top-10 album charts in Austria, Turkey and South Africa.

Most of his saxophone pieces are emotional and nostalgic, but some feature rock and roll and reggae elements.
