Tropical Storm Lisa has rapidly strengthened into the seventh hurricane of the Atlantic season, but without threat to land, U.S. weather authorities reported on Friday.
The U.S. National Hurricane Center in Miami, Florida said that Lisa had top sustained winds of 75 mph (120 kph). However, the storm does not pose any hazards to land.
The center added that it was a rather small tropical cyclone and a category one on the five level Saffir-Simpson scale. It might strengthen slightly Friday, and then weaken again by late Saturday.
